Lobster, lobster, lobster...

Lobster Roll and lobster tacos

Well, we finally reached Bar Harbor, Maine! The nor'easter is heading our way but we think we'll be ok here instead of moving inland. Today's travel took us through historical Ellsworth and beautiful homes along the water. We passed a large white mansion with beautiful grounds. The sky is full of mares tale clouds today. The drive was short because we drove half way yesterday to stay at a delightful KOA because our previous site had utility power problems.

Dinner at The Lobster Pound for a lobster roll and lobster tacos!!!! YUMMY! We met a delightful family from north Jersey and the husband reps to Walmart making trips often to Bentonville. Their 2 year old was quite curious about Albert.

Walking downtown is full of locals and people from everywhere. There's an outfitter by the water with ocean kayaks that are long and skinny. Tomorrow we will explore the Acadia National Park, get a stamp in our book, and sticker for the NoBo.

Our day started with breakfast at the 2 Cats breakfast cafe. The Mediterranean Breakfast was out of this world 😋 Then Albert and I participated in The World's Largest pet walk with Pet Partners. A stroll around the shopping district, grocery shopping, a visit to Acadia National Park, with a stop at Paddy's Irish Pup & Restaurant to finish our day of excitement. We met nice people from Serbia and various places.

Off for a day of exploring the Acadia National Park! We drove the shoreline scenic loop that included Thunder Hole, Sand Beach, and we tried to stop in at Jordan's Pond House for a popover but there was a waiting ling line out the door and the main parking lot was full!! The drive and stops were spectacular with waves crashing along the shore. People from around the world are here to see the breath taking views. It's quite windy here today which is chilly coming in off the water. Out of the rocky soil we find wild flowers, ferns, and moss decorating the landscape.

We enjoyed a delightful dinner at the Chart Room restaurant overlooking the water with Barbara and Brian. These are new friends that we me while hiking the Watkins Glen Gorge recently. They are full time campers! Kevin ate fish (halibut) and chips and I had a bowl of New England Clam Chowder. Both are excellent choices. We look forward to the next time we get together with these new friends.
