Quechee Pine Valley Campground

Campsite in the VT mountains near Woodstock

Beautiful campsite with evergreens and trees with fall colors

Today's travel was full of new places. We passed the Champlain canal, Whitehall Navy display along with a building that looked like a brick castle, harvest markets, ski lopes and gondola, ski side village, and Quechee Gorge. Our campground is delightful and our welcoming host is named Cindy. Tomorrow we explore Woodstock's many places of interest.

Learning the history of Vermont, and the people that settled here, is interesting. Matthew Lyon was a key figure starting in the 1700s.

It didn't take long for neighbors to start filling in the places near us. Deb & Lex with Bennie the beagle are next to us and are from FL. They've been traveling since May and are ready to get home. We sat around the camp fire for a while. Don & Jackie with Whiskey the Micro Goldendoodle live in southern CA and have been traveling for 12 weeks. They enjoy traveling in a class A RV. Don brought over sipping bourbon they got at Buffalo Trace in KY. We enjoyed time around the fire.

Walking around Woodstock, in and out of shops, and looking at very old buildings and churches was interesting. Lunch at the Butcher Shop deli was nice while people watching at their sidewalk cafe. This quaint town has covered bridges, waterfalls, ski areas, homes with steep roofs for snow, and beautiful mountains.

Back to the camper for camp fire time. Bob & Bernadette with Teddy the Cavapoo are here from DE and came over to visit. They met during the late 60s in a commune. Harry & Nancy from GA came over from next door with their retired show dog Hero. Everyone that comes to visit brings wine, cheese, etc to fellowship fire side.

This was a good day and we would stay here again.
