Tohicken Family Campground

Our journey today took us past Yale University, BIC Way in New Haven [like the BIC pen], speeding Amtrak trains as we sat in traffic, Norwalk that was incorporated in 1651. Once in Bucks county we passed the Pearl S. Buck house in Dublin, Pa.

Family reunion day at Jim and Mary's for a delightful lunch with 11 family members present. Sweet meeting of new people and rekindling of relationships of old times. After food and table conversation we shared ancestry documents and swapped stories, and maybe a little folklore. New to the group was a delightful 94 year old, Dave Boorse. He is a true gem of a person whose life journey is like reading a great book.

Off to Washington's Crossing for the day. First was the museum and walking along the Delaware River, looking at the Durham boats, the Inn that folklore says General Washington ate dinner on Christmas night, the village of homes and lunch at the new Washington's Inn Restaurant garden area. Denise was a fun waitress and it was her birthday. Two woman came in wearing hats and dressed up for an event. We spent a while looking around at the scarecrow exhibits, made with interesting designs, that will be judged for the best and, of course, a bit of shopping. This is a beautiful and historical place that we totally hope to visit again. Back to the campsite for a big fire and light meal.
